Guest speakers have become an important part of the educational experience for students worldwide. They expose students to real-world life experiences from the position of someone who has been there. Students get to see the insight and perspective of the guest speaker’s particular field. Another added benefit is the link that students get to make between what they learn in their textbooks and what they learn from the guest speaker. Research indicates that it helps students build important connections between what they are learning and the real world.

Under the supervision of the Division of Student Affairs, and in collaboration with the Core Program, the Department of Campus Life hosted guest speaker Mr. Feras Al-Ruwais, from Saudi Aramco Business and Portfolio Analyst for a lecture followed by a group discussion.

Mr. Al-Ruwais presented the importance of effective communication, continuous learning, taking initiatives, and time management. Students were enthusiastically participating and interacting.

The discussion was facilitated by the faculty member Alex Woodman.

This was an exciting opportunity to network and learn from young professionals working at Saudi Aramco.
