Purpose

This policy governs the guidelines for applying to PMU SAP opportunities at partner Institutions.

Statement :

1.     Application Requirements

1.1.    Applicants should fill the SAP application form before the announced deadlines. All applicants must attach to the form the following documents addressed to the host institution and submit them to PMU assigned SAP Registration Officer:

a)           Latest Official Transcripts at the time of application

b)          Statement of purpose

c)           Applicant resume or portfolio

d)          Bank guarantee certificate (for self-sponsored candidates as well as for visa purposes)

e)           2 letters of recommendation from 2 PMU faculty members who have taught the candidate

f)            IELTS or TOEFL Tests Scores as per the host institution’s requirements

g)           Deadlines, specific admission requirements and registration dates are to be observed by Enrollment and Registration to ensure strict compliance to the academic policies at PMU as well as the host institutions.

2.     SAP Advisor

2.1.    While the application is being processed, applicants are encouraged to start the course selection exercise with their college SAP advisor. The college SAP advisor shall:

a)           Ensure the courses selected with the student at the host institution are mapped with PMU courses.

b)          Ensure that the selected courses are approved by the department chair and college dean for credit transfer purposes.

c)           Verify that courses selected are relevant to the applicant specialization.

d)          Verify that courses selected are offered during the appropriate semester at the host institution.

e)           Ensure that the applicant has fulfilled the pre-requisites for those courses.

f)            Ensure that the courses selected are not online as attendance and interaction with peers on campus at the host institution is a requirement for a successful SAP experience.

2.2.   Applicants understand that PMU offers only a provisional acceptance to the SAP, however, final admission to the host institution remains at the strict discretion of that institution. The final decision will be communicated to the candidate email address.

Procedure :

Below is the process related to internal applications, applications to host institution, admission and registration processes as well as reporting and credit transfers. All lists of accepted candidates must be endorsed with the Rector’s Approval before granting acceptance notifications.

Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 3 SAP Outcomes

Internal Application:

- Latest Official Transcripts at the time of application

- Statement of Purpose

- Applicant resume or portfolio

- Bank guarantee certificate (for self-sponsored candidates as well as for visa purposes)

- 2 Letters of recommendation from 2 PMU faculty members who have taught the candidate

- IELTS or TOEFL Tests Scores

- All Addressed to Host Institution

Provisional Admission to SAP:

- Internal Selection

- Application to Host Institution

- Selection of Courses with PMU SAP Advisor

 

 

 

 

Final Admission to SAP:

- Final Admission received from Host Institution

- Settlement of SAP tuition

- Visa processing

- Registration of Courses

- Application to Housing in Host Country

 

Progress & Grade Reports:

- Students sends progress reports in the middle of the semester

- Upon return, student writes experiences report

- Student submits official transcript of records to the Registrar’s Office for credit transfer

 

 

 

 

 

1.     Fees

Applicants who meet the SAP admissions requirements will pay the same amount of tuition they are paying at PMU. If the tuition in the hosting University is higher than the tuition at PMU, PMU will bear the difference in fees. Additionally, accepted applicants may be entitled for airline ticket, housing & allowance based on the following criteria:

1.1.    Entitlement for airline ticket, housing and allowance

a)           Applicant must be Senior or Junior student

b)          Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

c)           Applicant must meet the admissions requirements at the hosting University

d)          Applicant must pass a personal interview with PMU SAP committee

1.2.    Entitlement for airline ticket and housing only

a)           Applicant must be Senior or Junior student

b)          Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

c)           Applicant must meet the admissions requirements at the hosting University

d)          Applicant must pass a personal interview with PMU SAP committee

1.3.    Entitlement for receiving the tuition difference only

a)           This applies to students in the Sophomore level only

b)          Applicant must have at least GPA of 2.5

c)           Applicant must meet the admissions requirements at the hosting University

d)          Applicant must pass a personal interview with PMU SAP committee

2.     Disclosure

All applicants should read and agree to all terms of the SAP offered at PMU. Those policies are subject to change as per the requirements of PMU and the Partner Institutions.
