On June 2, 2009 a delegation of U.S. companies led by the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council and the Eastern Trade Council, visited Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) to explore business opportunities in both markets. The PMU senior team was headed by Dr. Nassar Shaikh, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Zlatica Kraljevic, Dean of Institutional Relations. The U.S delegation included David Mathe, Chairman, Eastern Trade Council and Mr. David Callahan, Vice President, Business Development, U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.

The Eastern Trade Council represents the interests of 10 states in the Northeast region of the United States of America including top universities and corporations. The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council is an organization of business leaders in both countries working together to increase trade and investment by promoting broader understanding among U.S. and Saudi Arabian companies, as well as specific business opportunities.
