PMU Geoscience Club members have recently attended 2 dinner meetings and 2 lectures organized by Dhahran Geoscience Society (DGS). On December 6, 2010 - Dr. Larry D. Meckel gave in-depth presentation entitled: “Unconventional Petroleum Systems: Unconventional Thinking Produces Unconventional Results” and there was a raffle draw under which a PMU student Jehad Al Ghamdi won a gift voucher.
Approximately 200 members and among of them PMU faculty, staff, and students participated in the “star gazing night” which was held on December 2, 2010.
On November 29, 2010 a presentation was given entitled, “Talking and Listening to Reservoirs: Production Monitoring by Active and Passive Seismic.”
PMU Geoscience Club is currently negotiating with DGS the possibility of organizing a special field trip to all PMU members and students to “The Geology of the Dammam Dome”.
PMU Geoscience Club will hold its next meeting on Tuesday 21, 2010 at 12:00 noon, in the Department of Campus Life in room B-002. There will be task distribution among members and budget issues to be discussed. New members are more than welcome!
