A senior delegation from PMU visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks complex...

A PMU delegation visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) in Hong Kong on February 17, 2010. The objective of the visit was to learn about the operation of the science park and its interaction with local and foreign corporations in support of PMU’s plans to build and operate a technology park next to the university. A comprehensive presentation and tour of the modern facilities was led by Mr. Allen Yeung, HKSTP Vice President Business Development and Technology Support (picture, center). The PMU delegation was headed by Dr. Nassar Shaikh, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (second from left), joined by Dr. Zlatica Kraljevic, Dean of Institutional Relations (second from right), and Dr. Jamal Nayfeh, Dean of the College of Engineering (far left), and very specially by Mr. Jacoub Al Dossary, Head of PDD Asia Pacific Academic Affairs of the Aramco Overseas Company based in Hong Kong (far right).

Since its inception in 2001, the Park is home of more than 200 technology companies engaging in integrated circuits and electronics; precision engineering, biotechnology, green technology and ICT industries. PMU is the first private university in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia currently enrolling over 2,000 students, with a targeted capacity of 5,500 students by 2013.
