October 16, 2010 - More than 300 PMU students and other students from the surrounding universities networked with recruiters from the Aramco, Saudi Airlines, insurance firms, shipping companies, car rental agencies, beverage companies,and dozens of other companies at PMU’s First Career Day. "We had a great turnout of students and employers," said Omar J. Elmoussa, the Director of PMU Student Affairs as students poured into Sport Center Tuesday. Associate Director Rania Sinno was busy working on the final touches for the same event on the female campus, and she anticipated that they would be a huge crowd from students and visitors coming to the PMU’s First Career Day. HRH Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Bin AbdulAziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, accompanied with PMU Rector Dr. Issa H. Al Ansari opened the Career Day and toured all the companies’ participants’ booths. He certainly stopped at PMU booth where they showcased their creative science projects and chatted with the students. At booths from Aramco to Saudi Arabian Airlines to accounting firms, students and PMU alums hooked up with employers to get a quick overview of the job scene and a briefing on their organizations. Many junior and senior students stopped by different booths and left with a handful of information about these companies. Most students were impressed with the diverse group of companies making their way to the PMU campus. Student Ahmad Husseini, business major stated, “A lot of potential opportunities are here.” He will be graduating in the spring semester. Overall, the PMU First Career Day was the talk of the community in Khobar and the press from Saudi TV and AlArabiya TV were present and interviewed PMU Rector Dr. Issa and the students (prospective employees). It was a great success!
