The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Nicholas Anstee, and his delegation of 19 business people and UK embassy personnel visited Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) on February 20, 2010. Anstee provided a comprehensive update on the opportunities offered by the City of London, “one of the world’s leading centers for education and finance”. The UK is Europe’s largest international banking center and is top for global trading in derivatives’ he said. Anstee affirmed that Saudi Arabia, recently added as a G-20 player, is an important partner for the UK and invited Saudi companies to open offices in the city. With over 24 banks in Britain providing Islamic investment services, he said, “London should be (Saudis) preferred choice” for business.
