Al-Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU), Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virginia, the U.S.A based VSD LLC today. PMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nassar M. Shaikh and Mr. Fred Stewart from VSD LLC explored feasibility to develop interactive relation between two organizations for mutual growth. It is focused at international exchange of technology, faculty, students, research data, educational programs and training etc.
The cooperation PMU expects from VSD LLC is to demonstrate its activities on local and international levels. "Educational programs designed to prepare leaders in academic and business sectors at PMU can be possibly highlighted through VSD LLC for a "best in class" rapid prototype capability particularly at the college of engineering," briefed the signatories in a joint statement. This will be completed through practicing advanced training and simulation to improve research competencies at PMU for professional development of students and staffs.
PMU and VSD LLC plans to formulate specific action agreement for development and to implement avenues for a visually impaired institution through using modern technology. Devising specific action agreements and their provisions too were discussed for better assistance to PMU through development, implementation, training and simulation of services.
This MoU proposes VSD LLC to work as global advocator of PMU especially in acquiring potential technology and equipments for the formulation of a college for the visually impaired and blind. It seeks to establish benchmark for designing and execution of such institution. Other factors will also be evaluated to complete projects in line with international academic trends. It will benefit PMU faculties and students to utilize innovative technology like full immersion virtual reality simulation that may help them emerge as future leaders in various walks of life.
VSD LLC will possibly promote the conferences and programs for PMU with satisfactory use of technology meant to develop excellent academic culture. Both will explore means to market and finance joint projects in association with government, industry and funding from various sources to develop business acumen competencies.
Both PMU and VSD LLC would negotiate and mutually agree through written agreements to work on the cooperative programs of specific nature before their commencement.
