About the Library

Dr. Jamil A. Qureshy, Library Director

The PMU Library encompasses more than a traditional library and offers extensive access to electronic/digital information resources as well as print. The PMU Library consists of a male section and a separate female section. The Library is designed to promote research and study and has materials in English and Arabic.

The PMU Library’s web pages contain important information about the Library and provide access to the library’s online catalog and electronic resources.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)

The catalog can be searched to find items in the Library’s print collection of books.

Electronic Resources

The Library’s electronic resources collection is the major component of the Library’s Collection. The shift to the primacy of electronic resources is in keeping with developments in major academic libraries.

Library Print Collections

There are three components to the print collection:
  • Core Collection:

    A growing collection of more than 4,000 volumes. Additionally, the library is in the process of purchasing an additional 10,000 titles.
  • Reference Collection:

    A small, but robust and growing collection of major Reference works.
  • Serials Collection: We currently have subscriptions to more than 100 print journals and 10 newspapers in English and Arabic.

Library Building

The Library building has been open to the PMU Community since November 2008. Each section of the library contains reading areas, thin-client workstations for student use, a self-check station, and a Circulation/Reference desk. Additionally, the entire LRC building has wireless access to the PMU network as well as power points for laptops.
