In November 2012, PMU’s Deanship of Continuing Education & Community Services entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Social Welfare to offer a Diploma program in Computer Science and Human Resource Management to the community in the Eastern Province. The diploma program is conducted over a period of 6 semesters.
Currently, we have approximately 500 male and female students registered into the program, out of which there are 60 deaf students. During the first two semesters, the students are prepared for English Language following with the core courses depending on the majors selected by the students
Following diplomas are offered:
- Diploma in Web Development
- Diploma in Computer Networking
- Diploma in Database Management
- Diploma in Information Systems
- Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM)
One of the key aspects of the program is to train groups of Hearing Impaired (DEAF) students. PMU has tied up with the Deaf Association Club and also hired interpreters who work in collaboration with the faculty to deliver the lectures to these students.
