Welcome to the Department of Architecture at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU).

As the Department of Architecture at the College of Architecture and Design (COAD), we recognize the unique challenges and opportunities the young generation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) faces in a rapidly evolving country. Our commitment extends beyond imparting knowledge—we are dedicated mentors, offering steadfast support and guidance to our students as they navigate their academic and professional paths.

At the Department of Architecture, we are committed to fostering a vision of socially responsible, technologically advanced, environmentally conscious, and culturally enriching architecture. We aim to educate and empower future leaders and innovators in Saudi Arabia's architecture profession. What makes our department unique is integrating a wide range of disciplines such as architectural design, building technology, design computation, history and theory, and 4 IR technologies into a comprehensive curriculum, preparing our students to tackle the multifaceted challenges of the architectural field with ambition and determination. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional teaching and research programs. Our department is united by a shared commitment to passionate and dedicated instruction, an approach that firmly grounds architecture in both social and technological contexts, and a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity. The diversity within our faculty—comprising architects, urban planners, building technologists, engineers, art and architecture historians, and specialists in various architectural research fields—further enriches the learning experience, offering our students a comprehensive perspective on architecture.

The architectural and construction industry is thriving with Saudi Arabia's expanding population, rapid urbanization, and growing economic prosperity. While international firms have historically dominated much of the design and construction work, there is now a strong movement to increase the involvement and leadership of Saudi nationals in these fields. The architecture program at PMU is dedicated to equipping KSA citizens with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials to fully engage in and lead the building industry, both within the KSA and on the global stage.

We are dedicated to delivering excellence in education to male and female students through our Bachelor of Architecture program. This degree, offered through a five-year curriculum, is designed to meet the rigorous American standards of the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). While the program prepares graduates to practice architecture within Saudi Arabia, it also equips them to pursue further studies in graduate schools internationally. With all courses taught in English, our faculty members are proficient in the language, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
