A Message From The Dean
It is with utmost pleasure that I welcome you to the College of Computer Engineering and Science (CCES). CCES is 12 years old, and we are proud of our Students, Faculty, and Staff. Our programs instill knowledge of the latest Computer, Communication, and Information technologies and are crafted to provide students with design, analysis, critical thinking, team work, and communication skills. Our laboratories are equipped with the content and tools to enhance student learning abilities. Two of our programs, Computer Engineering and Information Technology, are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), with the remaining two programs to follow suit in the near future, including the recently established program in Software Engineering.
Members of the CCES Faculty employ experiential learning and modern teaching methods, and are active in various research areas including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Algorithms, Cybersecurity, Bio-Informatics, Quantum Computing, Computer Vision, Robotics, Embedded Systems, and Formal Methods. CCES Faculty regularly publish and attend Conferences in these areas. Our students are exposed to these research themes via senior projects. CCES is strongly linked to three newly established PMU Centers and Labs: the Artificial Intelligence Center, the Cybersecurity Center, and the Robotics Lab. Furthermore, graduate programs and a Parallel Computing and Big Data Laboratory are under development in our College.
Over 90% of our students are employed by Saudi Aramco, Sadara, SABIC, Rawabi and Schlumberger, and are sought by other local and regional employers. Before employment, CCES students gain real work experience by completing 8-week internships with the local industry.
Members of our Staff organize three student workshops each term, with past workshops relating to exciting topics such as Mobile Web development, Python programming, and CISCO Academy (CCNA). More training for students and local professionals leading to certifications will be soon offered.
My door is open to answer any enquiry. I invite you to join us on the CCES day which will take place concurrently with our Senior Project exhibitions during Fall and Spring semesters.
