Academic Standing


Placement on Probation

  • Students will be placed on academic probation at the end of any semester in which his/her cumulative GPA is below 2.0. Students on probation have one semester in which to achieve a non-cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

  • If the student on probation achieved non cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and cumulative GPA less than two, he/she will be placed on a second probation.

  • If in any subsequent semester the student achieved cumulative GPA of less than 2.00, then he/she will be dismissed from the University. However, at the discretion of the Dean of the College or that Chair of the Academic Department , the student maybe given another chance to improve his/her cumulative GPA.

  • Actions involving academic probation and dismissal are entered on the student’s permanent record.


Removal of Probation and Dismissal

  • Probation will be removed at the end of any semester in which a student attains a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.
