Admissions to the Preparatory Program



In order to meet the high admission standards for the degree programs, PMU offers a program of study for students who need additional preparation in the English language, mathematics and learning skills**. The decision on whether or not a student should complete the Preparatory Program depends on the results of the English Language proficiency test.


Admission Criteria

The applicant’s eligibility for admission is based on the following:
  • Completed online application
  • Acceptable secondary school GPA *80% or equivalent
  • Acceptable General Aptitude Test score *60% (Qudrat) or equivalent (SAT 1) 
  • PMU English Placement Test or PMU recognized proficiency English language test certificate
  • Personal interview with the Admissions Office
  • College admission is based on separate criteria (click here)

*Students with a lower percentage can apply, however, acceptance will depend on the overall results of the following criteria:

  • Secondary School  60%
  • General Aptitude Test 40%

**Based on the student’s English level, the following study skills courses are required:

How to Apply:

  1. Completed online application
  2. Submit documents before due date
    • Two recent passport-size photographs
    • Copy of secondary school certificate
    • Copy of General Aptitude Test score report (Qudrat) or equivalent (SAT 1)
    • Copy of Saudi ID or “Iqama” (for Non-Saudis)
    • Copy of Family ID Card (For female applicants - if available)
    • Copy of passport
    • If employed, a letter of no objection from the employer is required
  3. Pay a non-refundable application fee of SAR 950 (incl. VAT) upon submission of documents
  4. Submit a PMU recognized proficiency English language test certificate with acceptable scores (if available)

Admission Process

  • After receiving and reviewing the above requirements, the admissions office will set an appointment for an English placement test (Aptis Placement Test) and interview

  • The final decision will be communicated through the Admissions Office
