Admissions to the PhD in Business Administration

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration program is to develop scholars who are qualified to educate in an academic environment by enhancing the state of discovery, innovation and sustainable business development and who are capable to produce impactful research. The program is offered in two Tracks: Management and Finance. The Ph.D. program is internationally accredited by AACSB as top 6% of business schools worldwide.

Admission Criteria


Educational Background:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Otherwise, if the master degree is not from another discipline they must successfully attend and complete with minimum GPA 2.80 12 credit hours of MBA from the PMU (6 credit in management and 6 in finance) or another accredited University to be eligible to apply to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A”) or they must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program.


English Language Proficiency Test:

  • A valid IELTS certificate (Academic version) with minimum scores of 6.5 overall and 5.5 in each skill or equivalent TOEFL iBT minimum scores of 83 overall and 19 in each skill (online or home edition is not accepted)

Supporting Documents:

  • Three recommendation letters from academicians or employers

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Transcripts of degrees earned

  • A personal aspiration letter stating the reasons that the applicant should be admitted to the program and their personal research interests.


Personal Interview:

  • Candidates will be personally interviewed by committee of the program administrators and faculty
