My name is Bayan Al Nasr, I am one of PMU’s first batch of bachelor’s degree graduates and proud to be. I joined PMU in 2008 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance with first honor award. PMU is where I discovered my interests and I started achieving my ambitions. I was able to broaden my knowledge in the financial market, use various academic sources and master my research skills.

My graduate degree at PMU coupled with my work experience at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) helped me to decide a career path in banking as I found how passionate I am about this field. Thus I pursued my studies with a master’s degree in Banking and International Finance at Leeds University in the UK, one of the world’s top business schools.

Currently, I am working as Assistant Relationship Manager at the Institutional Banking Group of Gulf International Bank (GIB). When I first joined GIB, I worked as Credit Analyst Associate as part of the Young Professional Development Program. My job involves analyzing and interpreting clients’ financial information in order to assess their credit worthiness. Another key role involves managing relationships, where every single interaction with clients affects the business bottom line. Attracting and retaining clients in the banking industry is almost entirely dependent on the relationships that are formed. Thus, a great experience could secure the retention of that client for years and this is what we make sure of in a daily basis.

I enjoy my work and hope to obtain a meaningful and challenging position in the banking industry that enables me to expand my knowledge and experience in banking, broaden my working abilities in addressing challenges inherent in the financial field and allows for advancement.
