On January 20, 2009, Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University signed a collaboration agreement with the STC Group in the Netherlands to help facilitate an international exchange of faculty and students, and the development of research and educational programs. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Issa Al Ansari, PMU Rector, Dr. Zlatica Kraljevic, PMU Dean of Institutional Relations, Mr. Erik Hietbrink, Chairman  STC Group and Mr. W.A. (Ton) van Essen, Director STC Group Holding BV.

The STC Group in Rotterdam encompasses the Shipping and Transportation College (STC) and the University of Rotterdam, both pooling on the expertise of suppliers worldwide for the shipping, port and logistics chain, as well as the harbour-bound oil and chemical sector.
