Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) proactively participated in the Meeting of Quality and Development Directors in Saudi Universities that was held during February 27 - 28, 2011 at King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. The event was conducted under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Higher Education.
The two-day meeting attracted all leadership personnel in the field of quality and development of almost all Saudi Universities. The agenda was focused on sharing the expertise in the field of quality and development in higher education and best practices adopted at various universities.
The first day sessions addressed the challenges facing Saudi Universities in achieving the accreditation goals while the second day was dedicated to paper presentations by the participating institutions.
PMU was represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Nassar Shaikh and Director of Quality Center Dr. Emad Tanbour who also presented a PMU paper in the meeting. The title of the PMU paper was "Institutional Effectiveness in Higher Education, The Perspective of Southern Association of Colleges and State SACS USA." Dr. Tanbour also presented a short overview lecture on PMU's history, progress and achievements in the road towards recognition and accreditation from NCAAA, SACS, ABET and other international accreditation bodies.
This participation comes in part due to PMU's constant efforts to strengthen its sharing and collaborative goals with the national higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of quality and development. PMU also participated in the Quality and Development Show that accompanied the meeting where various Saudi Universities displayed quality and development instruments and literature. PMU exhibited complete volume of the university system and uniquely developed curriculum that is modeled and tested against 32+ universities in North America.
Visitors of PMU booth shared positive impressions about the record achievements of PMU. Unique PMU graduate competencies and skills were also exhibited in the show and attracted great attention.
