Defense Minister Prince Salman is set to arrive in Dammam today on a five-day visit to the Eastern Province, his first after taking the new position. He will inspect the various sectors of armed forces stationed in the region and their combat readiness.
Prince Salman’s itinerary includes a visit to Prince Muhammad bin Fahd University and the Eastern Province Governorate.
He will also visit a low-cost housing project for the poor and another charitable project named Mashael Al-Khair.

Maj. Gen. Ali Aseeri, commander of the Eastern Province, highlighted the significance of the royal visit, saying he would inspect land, navy, and air forces as well as the air defense force in the region. “Our armed forces stationed in the region are capable of confronting any threat.”
