Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) Preparatory Program distribution of contact hours regarding English language courses.  This policy has been established to ensure compliance with the PMU Program Design and to ensure the learning outcomes for all levels are met.


Statement

·        Definitions:

-       Communication Skills:  This refers to listening and speaking courses.

-       Writing Skills: This refers to reading and writing courses.

-       Workshop:  This refers to out of class activities designed to enhance language learning and acquisition.  Students will be required to meet with their instructors in class to receive information, instructions, and guidance concerning the activities to be carried out.

The number of contact hours for each course are as follows:

          Communication Skills: …………………  10 hours
