Students must pass the PMU final exams with a score of 70% in each of the program’s three components; namely, Theories and Applications of Learning (Study Skills), math, and English.

Upon completion of the Preparatory Program, students must take an internationally recognized external English proficiency test to provide an objective assessment of their general English language competence. The following criteria will apply to enter the Core Program:

THEORIES AND APPLICATIONS OF LEARNING (Study Skills)
o The Study Skills program must be completed in the Preparatory Program, but in the event that a student could not complete it within the timeframe, he/she can be given an extension until the end of first year in Core.
o Intermediate Level students take Theories and Applications of Learning 1.
o Advanced Level students take Theories and Applications of Learning 2.
o Intermediate Level students must complete PRPC 0041, PRPW 0041, and PRPL 0011 to enroll in PRPL 0012 (Study Skills II).
Students successfully completing Intermediate Communication Skills, Intermediate Writing, and Theories and Applications of Learning 1 may take the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam or TOEFL iBT to gain direct entry to Core. A minimum score of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in writing is required on IELTS for direct entry to Core. A minimum of 69 overall and 18 in writing is required on TOEFL iBT.
PREPARATORY MATH
o The Preparatory Math Program consists of Introductory Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and Pre-Calculus.
o The following majors require Introductory Algebra and Intermediate Algebra:
o Business Administration
o Finance
o Accounting
o Management Information Systems
o Human Resource Management
o Interior Design
o Information Technology
o Law
o The following majors require Introductory Algebra and Pre-Calculus:
o Mechanical Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Civil Engineering
o Computer Engineering
o Computer Science
ENGLISH
After successfully passing the Advanced English courses, students must take an English proficiency test. Students who achieve a 6.0 overall score on IELTS and 5.5 in writing, or the equivalent on another internationally recognized test, will enroll in Core. Students who do not achieve the minimum required scores will also enroll in Core; however, they will be required to take developmental courses.
