Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the PMU criteria for rewarding active researchers.
Statement

Upon employment contract renewals of faculty, active researchers are eligible for an incentive of up to 5% of their basic salaries. The value of these incentives are based on the number of publications, during the previous contract period, in international refereed journals indexed by Scopus

These incentives are not part of the basic salary of the faculty and will be paid separately on a monthly basis for the period of the contract. They will be re-evaluated upon every contract renewal. Based on the

results of the re-evaluation these incentives are subject to change and may be stopped.
Procedure
Procedure :

1.   Upon the renewal of the faculty contract, the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research will compile related data from the Scopus Database and submit to the Vice President’s Office.

2.   For verification purposes the faculty will also submit the list of his/her Scopus Indexed publications to the Chair/Associate of his/her Department, who will submit it to the Dean. The Dean submits it to the Vice President’s Office.

3.   A special committee chaired by the Vice President will review the submitted data and decide incentives according to the following table:
