Purpose

The Global Engagement Office at PMU supports the institutional internationalization strategy by exploring, forging and maintaining opportunities for international experience, exposure and visibility for the PMU community at large. This policy regulates internal and cross departmental workflows in terms of global initiatives.
Statement

Areas of Internationalization:

  1. Global Partnership: Relations with peer institutions globally, with international education associations and agencies
  2. Education Abroad: opportunities for PMU students to study abroad
  3. International Students: Opportunities for International students to study at PMU
  4. International Scholars: International faculty recruitment, visiting faculty, guest speakers, professorship and other international faculty appointments
  5. Special Projects: Expansion projects and initiatives involving international partners
  1. Global Events: Events hosted by PMU involving global partners, and events hosted by global partners in collaboration with PMU. Issuing the Global Events Calendar
  2. International Media: Formal and Social Media outlets for institutional global visibility. Develop and remain Global Contacts database

Global Engagement Department Roles

  1. Global Partnerships
  1. Initiation of institutional partnership opportunities
  2. Support of colleges and departments in the initiation of global partnership opportunities until formalization of agreement
  3. Follow up on the implementation of the terms of the international agreements in collaboration with the departments, while operational execution is housed in the concerned department
  4. Formulation of contracts and articulation agreements issued from MOUs
  5. Coordinating financial terms for agreements
  6. Reporting on implementation, assessment and recommendation to PMU Management in collaboration with host colleges or departments
  7. Renewals and termination of agreements based on institutional strategy.
  1. Education Abroad
  1. Forging partnerships with SAP host institutions
  2. Signing of SAP agreements
  3. Follow up on contractual terms
  4. Coordinating financial terms
  5. Reporting on implementation, assessment and recommendation to PMU Management in collaboration with the concerned Department
  6. Renewals and termination of agreements based on institutional strategy.

Procedure
Procedure :

Execution and Operations

·                     At PMU, collaboration projects may be initiated by:

-                      The Global Engagement Office based on the institutional strategy

-                      The colleges and departments in areas of specialty. Expansion of agreements to other areas shall take place through the Global Engagement Office

-                      Individual Initiators at PMU, through Faculty or Administrators networks, according to approved policies

·                     Contracts, agreement and MOUs are negotiated by the Global Engagement Department on behalf of the institution until final approval and signing.

·                     Execution of the terms of the agreements is the responsibility of the host college/department. The Global Engagement Department will be copied on all communications for reporting and information purposes.

·                     The Global Engagement Department follows up on the contractual terms, financial terms, and renewal and termination terms.
