Guiding Principles for Master Schedule Setup:
- Time Structure:
1) The university operates on a five-day schedule from Sunday through Thursday from 08:00 AM till 11:00 PM (Male Campus), and from 08:00 AM till 6:00 PM (Female Campus). The university is closed for the weekend on Friday and Saturday with the exception of post-graduate courses. The university also may be open on Saturdays during examination periods. These hours may be changed at the discretion of the University Management.
2) The classes should be scheduled as per the below table, and regular time slots will be respected to avoid conflicts and to enhance the space utilization. Except for laboratory, workshop, and specialized design and studio courses, classes ordinarily meet three days per week in 50-minute sessions or two days per week in 75-minute sessions:

5) Multiple sections of a same course are to be spread throughout the day and the week to ensure flexibility and breadth of options for the students, and minimize cross departmental scheduling conflict.
6) Any lab should be scheduled preferably after 13:00 pm, in case there is a need for multiple sections of the same labs, they may be scheduled in other time slots.
7) Each credit represents 50 minutes of class instruction or 120 to 180 minutes of laboratory experience per week for the semester. A three semester credit hour course typically meets for three 50 minute sessions per week (UTR). A four semester credit hour course typically meets for three 50 minute sessions plus one 120-to-180-minute laboratory session.
8) Evening classes: due to the fact the evening student can register a limited number of classes only, therefore there is ample space in the evening, the below can be taken in consideration upon the approval of the College Dean:
- Two contact hours’ course can be scheduled in one day
- Three, four, five contact hours’ classes should be scheduled on two days while ensuring that that the schedule is conflict free (according to students study plan).
9) Meeting time of the Graduate research courses, projects, and internships will be determined according to the arrangement of the college or the department.
