Under the supervision of Student Affairs, the Department of Health Care & Counseling, in coordination with King Fahd Specialist Hospital, launched the Blood Donation Campaign last November 16, 2015 for the male campus. A team of 10 members comprised of doctors and nurses came to support this campaign. “Be a Hero, It’s in your Blood” was the essence of this campaign. Many students, staff and faculty - 126 - turned up for the five-hour blood campaign that took place in the clinic. The team of staff nurses checked the donors’ weight, height, and blood pressure. The Blood Donation Campaign served as part of the university’s continuous effort to assist the larger community of the Eastern Province in replenishing the stock levels and helping the sick. Dr. Nabil Sharif, head of the Blood Drive team, personally thanked Dr. Issa Al Ansari, Rector of the university, who was present at the campaign. The PMU nurses noted that the response to the blood donation campaign was great, with no significant problems. This was an encouraging sign for us. Moreover, the Division of Student Affairs along with the Health Care & Counseling Department thanked the effort of King Fahd Hospital for aiding PMU in this campaign.
