The College of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board (COE-IAB) met on Thursday May 7th, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. at PMU Main Campus. The Dean and Chairs of the College of Engineering hosted members of the COE-IAB high ranking industry leaders from Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Sadara, GE Oil and Gas and GEMS as well academicians from KFUPM. The COE-IAB convened to provide engineering programs validation including educational, research, and service mission, goals, and outcomes; undergraduate curricula improvement; instructional content; technical support; industrial applications; assessment, accreditation and programs reviews. The board members provided industrial insights into new and emerging areas in the engineering disciplines of strategic importance and relevance to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They pledged to assist the College of Engineering in programs publicity, student and faculty recruitment, interns placement, alumni employment, and special project identification, and funding. They provided feedback and recommendations regarding the upcoming electrical engineering ABET accreditation.
